As cannabis legalization approaches, many businesses are scrambling to find their footing while emerging startups are forced to navigate through this dense competitive canopy. Toronto’s 2018 Lift & Co Expo is undoubtedly the place to be if you’re interested in discovering what the cannabis industry has to offer in Canada. This event has many types of products and services - including vaporizers, lab testing services, growing tech, dispensary memberships, bud trimming gadgets, and many more.
It can be overwhelming while you navigate through the various booths battling for your attention with freebies, show models, and flashy decor. Not to say that this was an issue but it really depends on what you’re seeking. For the general cannabis enthusiast or the prospect business investor this event is definitely for you. However, due to the immense exhibitor diversity, there seems to be a lack of products/service that would specifically intrigue the homegrown hobbyist. Only a few caught our attention and perhaps many others were just lost amongst the immensely populated show booths during our five-hour visit
Home cultivation hasn't gained enough momentum or interest mainstream yet, it’s a fairly niche hobby. As more of these events gain attention around Canada, it’s more than likely that we’ll see an abundance of interesting and innovating products geared towards the dedicated home grower in the near future.
